This book is actually a sequel to Bread Bags and Bullies: Surviving the 808’s. I strongly encourage you to read it first. Though you will get a taste of life growing up with Wally, Herbie, and Alphonse, the previous book gives you a deeper background and is well worth the read. Steven Manchester is a wonderful author and he always manages to touch me emotionally. I loved traveling back to the 80’s and the songs popular during that time period. And the stores they shopped at were the same ones I frequented. It was truly a flashback to the past. This one had me laughing one moment with tears flowing down my face next. A wonderful and heartwarming read. You did it again, Steven! Thank you for a moving, touching, and memorable book.
Thank you to the author and Luna Bella Press for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
