What a wonderful and inspirational story. I am so glad I found this audiobook available through my library or I may not have had the opportunity to read it. You will be blessed by both the story of Michael Hingson’s life growing up blind from birth. And then as you discover how he and his guide dog, Roselle, walked down 78 flights of steps with other individuals when the World Trade Center was attacked on 9/11, you will be in awe of Michael and the life he has lived and the way he inspires others.
It was amazing how Michael’s family raised him to do anything he wanted…riding a bicycle, graduating from college, becoming a responsible young man who was married to his wife who was paralyzed.
Between the humor and the raw feelings he experiences the day of the attack this story will touch you deeply. And discovering more about the training of guide dogs is inspirational. What a delightful view of loyalty and devotion between a blind man and his guide dog. It was an educational walk that was also encouraging and compassionate.
I am so glad I was given the opportunity to explore Michael’s life and the way he has allowed God to use him.
